As the school year begins and the weather changes, we watch as the leaves turn colors, and the holiday season grows closer. That said, Christmas is still months away and we still have some things to look forward to before Thanksgiving. With Detroit growing as an up-and-coming city there is so much to do and plenty of time to do it.
The first thing you can do is for yourself and your family. If you want to make a day trip with the whole family or maybe just for a date night and don’t mind a bit of a drive, feel free to drive out to Blake’s Orchard and Cider Mill. At Blake’s, they have apple cider, donuts, a tasting room for adults and so many more fun activities.
For those who are sports fans, why not head downtown to cheer on Motown’s heart and soul sports team — the Detroit Lions? This can be a fun experience for a family, a date or just to go with your friends or company. Lions games can include tons of fun and action as well as good food and fan experience.
If the Lions game seems a little too loud for you why not try heading down to Eastern Market this fall where you and your family can spend the whole day walking around one of Detroit’s most famous spots. Throughout the fall it offers a bunch of fun activities including line tailgates, trick or treating and fall beer fests.
Well, all that seems fun, but there is still so much more to do. You can always explore the city in downtown Campus Martius Park and do some shopping while looking at some of the leaves changing around the growing city. Of you can take a walk along the Riverwalk and look out into Canada.
As all of these take up a lot of energy once you get hungry, there are plenty of places to try and eat in Detroit. From Corktown to downtown, there area variety of options. Also, for our adults, don’t be afraid to try out plenty of the Halloween bar crawls going around downtown. Feel free to dress up and come spend a day with friends. As we look past Halloween of course there is always the Turkey Trot and the Thanksgiving parade that take place in downtown Detroit. These are fun activities for the whole family and will definitely leave an impact.
As Detroit grows so does the opportunity to try new things. While some of you may try all or none of these, you can’t argue with the fact that there is plenty to do this fall in Detroit.
