“Nothing but Treble,” an acapella group, has taken flight at the University of Detroit Mercy.
Founder Ashe’ Lewis got the idea from her favorite movie, “Pitch Perfect,” and decided that now was the time to launch the organization on campus.
“I was hesitant at first but I went out on faith and a limb and now here we are,” she said. “I’m extremely proud of the members that we have so far and we’re always welcoming more. Everyone is treated like family here and if you’re interested, then come on out.”
The group meets every Thursday night, 7-8 p.m., in the Shiple chapel.
Anita Klueg, director of the ministry office, is the group’s advisor.
So far, there are ten spunky members. But more are welcome.
If you know anyone who can “sang” or who loves to beat box, Lewis encourages you to let them know about “Nothing but Treble.
